Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most common questions about starting your science journey with Science Success Tutoress. I aim to make the onboarding process as smooth as possible for both students and parents.

How does the group session subscription work?

Once you enroll your child onto a group programme, a monthly recurring payment on the 3rd of every month is set up. This runs from September to June for Year 11 and July for Years 8, 9 and 10 within the school academic calendar. This stops you having to worry about sending any payments.

What do students need for the group sessions?

Students should have a notebook, a pen, a calculator, access to Google Meet for the live sessions. A stable internet connection and a quiet environment are essential for effective learning. Students will also need an email address to access the online resources.

Do you offer trial sessions?

Yes, you can trial a group session for £35 per session.

Can my child join mid way through the month/term/year?

Absolutely! You can pay the remaining sessions for that month and then you can enroll into the monthly subscription.

Do you provide homework?

Yes, I provide weekly homework booklets that students can self assess using the mark scheme in the answer booklet. These scores can be logged onto their personalised trackers. I do not mark this homework as I provide lots of verbal feedback in the sessions. Any homework questions that students are stuck on, I aim to go through in the next session or provide support over email.

How many students are there in the small group sessions?

There are 8-10 students maximum per class.

Why are the group subscriptions priced differently?

Pricing varies by the year group session subscription selected e.g. Year 11 sessions run from September to June (35 lessons over 10 months). Year 8 and 9 run from September to July (37 lessons over 11 months). Year 10 sessions run from September to July (38 lessons over 11 months).

How are online materials provided?

Students are granted access immediately to the portal after the session and remains available throughout the academic year.

What happens if a child misses a session?

All resources are uploaded onto the portal and students have access. This allows the student to catch up on the material covered at their own pace before the next session.
